Jay S. Horowitz has been a licensed attorney for over 34 years and is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

He counsels and advises clients regarding legal matters, including business law, wills and estate planning, and trademark protection and registration. He also serves on the Economic and Business Development Committee and the Olde Towne Advisory Committee for the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Experience

Before joining Bloomberg Law, Mr. Horowitz practiced law in Gaithersburg and Silver Spring, Maryland. He researched legal issues and formulated legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, contracts, and leases.

He was a guest on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal national television show, and he discussed and answered questions about the newly enacted BAPCPA legislation.
Mr. Horowitz represented indigent criminal defendants from arraignment through trial as a court appointed attorney. He also represented clients in administrative proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and in appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
